How to choose medical masks

There are three types of medical masks used in the medical, pharmaceutical and hospital fields, and their corresponding names are disposable medical masks, medical surgical masks, and medical protective masks.

1. Medical protective masks are used in medical working environments to filter particulate matter in the air and block droplets, blood, body fluids, secretions, etc. The bacterial filtration efficiency of the mask should be ≥ 95%; the filtration efficiency of the mask for non-oily particles should be ≥ 95%;

2. Medical surgical masks are used for protecting the clinical medical staff during invasive procedures. The non-oily particle filtration efficiency is ≥ 30%, and the bacterial filtration efficiency is ≥ 95%;

3. Disposable medical masks are suitable for sanitary care in ordinary medical environments where there is no risk of body fluids and splashes. It mainly blocks droplets, blood, body fluids, and splashes for self-priming filtration and dust prevention.

When choosing medical masks, be sure to look for masks that meet relevant standards and are produced by regular manufacturers, and wear and use them correctly, so as to better protect the health and safety of yourself and your family.
