Comparison between medical masks and daily masks

There are currently three main types of medical masks, protective medical masks, medical surgical masks, and disposable surgical masks.

1. Protective medical mask

It is generally made into a folded conical shape, which is the common N95 mask. It needs to meet the requirements of the GB19083 national standard. The two core technical indicators are that the filtration effect of non-oily fine particles with a diameter of 0.3 microns can reach more than 95%, and the blocking of bacteria with a larger diameter of 2 microns must reach 100%.

2. Medical surgical mask

The difference between medical surgical masks and protective masks is that the protection level of medical surgical masks is lower. In terms of technical indicators, medical surgical masks require a blocking effect of more than 30% against 0.3 micron non-oily small particles. Medical protective masks such as N95 are 95%, and the barrier property against bacteria with a diameter of 2 microns must be greater than 95%.

3. Disposable surgical mask

This kind of masks are all flat and need to meet the YY/T0969 standard. This is a mask with a lower level of protection than medical surgical masks.

Daily masks are all flat. This is a mask with a lower level of protection than disposable medical masks. Its structure is the same as disposable medical masks, except that the melt-blown cloth used in the middle is an ordinary melt-blown cloth that has not been electret treated, so it only has the blocking effect of droplets.
