It is a fact that everyone has heard of isolation gowns, protective wear, surgical gowns, etc. In the eyes of many people, they totally the same thing. However, they are quite different from the professional perspective.

I. Different functions
Medical protective wear:
Medical protective wear is the medical protective article worn by clinical medical staff when they come into contact with patients with Class A infectious diseases or infectious diseases managed by Class A infectious diseases.
Isolation gowns:
Isolation gowns are protective articles used for medical staff to avoid contamination by blood, body fluids and other infectious substances during contact, or to protect patients from infection.

II. Different user indications
Wear isolation gowns:
1. When contacting patients with infectious diseases spread by contact, such as patients with infectious diseases, or patients infected with multidrug resistant bacteria, etc.
2. When the patient is subjected to protective isolation, such as the diagnosis, treatment and nursing of patients with extensive burns and bone marrow transplantation.
3. When it may be splashed by the patient's blood, body fluids, secretions, and filth.
4. When entering key departments such as ICU, NICU, and protective wards, whether it is necessary to wear isolation gowns should depend on the purpose of entry of medical staff  and their contact with patients.
5. They are used for two-way protection of workers in various industries.
Wear medical protective clothing:
When contacting patients with airborne and droplet-borne infectious diseases, they may be splashed by the patient's blood, body fluids, secretions, and filth.

III. Different users
Medical protective wear:
Medical protective wear is a one-way isolation to prevent medical staff from being infected, and is mainly aimed at medical staff;
Isolation gowns:
Isolation gowns not only prevent medical staff or workers in various industries from being infected or contaminated, but also prevent patients from being infected, which is a two-way isolation.

IV. Different production requirements
Medical protective wear:
Medical protective wear is an important part of medical protective equipment. Its basic requirement is to block viruses, bacteria and other harmful substances, so as to protect medical staff from being infected during diagnosis, treatment and nursing. It meets the normal functional requirements, has good wearing comfort and safety, and is mainly used in industrial, electronic, medical, anti-chemical and anti-bacterial environments. Medical protective wear has the national standard GB 19082-2009 technical requirements for medical disposable protective clothing.
Isolation gowns:
There is no corresponding technical standard for isolation gowns. This is because the main function of isolation gowns is to protect staff and patients, prevent the spread of pathogenic microorganisms, and avoid cross-infection. There are no requirements for airtightness and waterproofness, but only isolation. It is only required that the length of the isolation gown is appropriate, and there should be no holes. When putting on and taking off, pay attention to avoid pollution.
