How to Choose Medical Goggles?

As a kind of medical equipment, goggles are also called medical isolation goggles. The current implementation standards are GB 14866-2006 (China), EN166: 2001 (Europe), ANSI/ISEA Z87.1-2015 (USA). Goggles, although seemingly a simple product, are actually quite different from type to type, and there are many aspects to pay attention to when buying a pair.

The main quality difference of goggles lies in the lens: good goggles, the lenses are  anti-fog, flat, anti-ultraviolet and blue light, while poor goggles, the lenses are easy to be foggy after wearing for a while, and the surface is concave and convex, and long-time wearing may also do harm to vision. The lenses are not anti-UV and blue light.

The difference can be clearly seen by testing equipment such as focal meters and stress meters. General lenses have high UV and BV transmittance, uneven surface, and colored ripples under the observation of the stress meter. In contrast, excellent quality  lenses are anti-ultraviolet and blue light, so UV and BV cannot penetrate, and the surface is smooth and stress is uniform.

The easiest way to test the anti-fogging property is to just breathe into the lens to see the difference. Some lenses are obviously foggy, while some are not foggy, and others are  foggy, but the fog dissipates within a second or two.

The general purpose of domestic goggles in the filing of the drug administration is that it is one-time use, which is a requirement of the drug administration at the time of filing. If we personally use it, good goggles can last a long time. For personal use, medical isolation masks are also a good choice. They may not have as good barrier effects as medical goggles, but they have better breathability and are more comfortable to wear in hot weather.
